Synopsis
In the Vienna Kunsthistorisches Museum a man and a woman meet. He is a guard there, she is come from America on a mission of mercy. Surrounded by Brueghel and beauty, a friendship develops, conversations and walks ensue, among the paintings and around Vienna. The observational camera watches it all – quietly, calmly, contemplatively – works of art, street scenes, people caught in quiet moments. The museum is the world, and the world is a museum. Like a detail in a Breughel painting noticed for the first time, this stunningly photographed film is full of moments of beauty and silent surprise. It is itself time spent in a museum, the museum of life, both innocent and wise. And, like life, supremely beautiful.
