CINEMA, CINEMA, CINEMA - THE 19TH WORLD CINEMA FESTIVAL SAYS THANK YOU!


The world cinema festival AROUND THE WORLD IN 14 FILMS would like to thank all partners, supporters, sponsors and the audience, who all made a successful and lively festival edition possible. For the 19th time, the independent Berlin Film Festival presented cinematic highlights of current world cinema from November 29 to December 7, 2024 in the cinema in the KulturBrauerei and the delphi LUX and Neues Off cinemas. The festival would like to thank all partners and supporters for their strong commitment and great loyalty, especially its main partners Audi City Berlin, the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, ARTE and CineStar. A big thank you goes to the post-production house BASIS BERLIN as prize sponsor and to this year's jury: Maryam Zaree, Annika Pinske and Fabian Stumm. A big thank you to all partners: World Cinema Fund of the Berlinale, Yorck Kinogruppe, Agentur Fitz + Skoglund, Jelly Press, European Film Academy, Casting Network and Woloho. Thank you Berlin – and Munich, Cologne and Nuremberg


A huge thank you goes to the Berlin audience, who with curiosity and openness once again demonstrated the appeal and quality of world cinema. A huge thank you goes to the team as well as the sponsors and guests who presented and discussed the films with enthusiasm and full of energy. Around 5,700 visitors attended the 19th AROUND THE WORLD IN 14 FILMS in Berlin. In addition, there are the other visitors to the ongoing festival tour in Munich (December 10th - 14th, 2024, City Kinos), Cologne (December 11th - 18th, 2024, Odeon Kino) and Nuremberg (December 28th, 2024 - January 6th, 2025, Filmhaus Nürnberg). In Berlin, the festival ended on December 7th, 2024 with the presentation of the BASIS BERLIN Postproduction Award for Best Director to Mo Harawe for his feature film “The Village Next to Paradise”.
